PMI expanded into Portfolio Management in 2005 with the release of The Standard for Portfolio Management – First Edition, which was updated to the 3rd Edition on January 1, 2013. This course is based on the Standard for Portfolio Management – Third Edition and includes everything identified in the Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) ® Examination Content Outline. The Standard, similar to other PMI standards, promotes a common vocabulary within portfolio management when applying these concepts.

This course will help you learn and apply portfolio management domains, tasks, knowledge, skills, process groups, tools, and techniques that are recommended as part of your organization's effort to improve the delivery of its strategic objectives. The terminology and definitions used are kept strictly within PMI’s standards to help learners achieve the PfMP designation.

In addition to the pre-course assessment, there are post-course mock exams, each consisting of 170 PfMP multiple-choice questions with correct answers and rationale. There are several activities meant for enhancing retention. These activities are inserted at logical intervals to give a relaxing break in the training.
