  1. Critical Thinking is a Life Skill

Kepner and Fourie critical thinking approaches is a particular way of thinking. It helps you to gain new insights and perspectives on complex issues, non-routine problem situations, and routine day-to-day issues. This is a life skill and helps you to set for the rest of your problem-solving life.

  1. Problem-solving for the 21st century

Problem-solving has evolved from a total focus on rational analysis and technical data investigation to that of a more intuitive approach using some data and some rational analysis. The KandF approach is using the well-known natural thinking approach of divergent thinking and convergent thinking. KandF has modified this by using a quick “factual snapshot” approach for divergent thinking and “SME intuition” for the convergent thinking phase. Together this permutation is a powerful “cocktail” for finding quick and accurate answers.

  1. A Holistic approach to typical problems experienced in IT

We take a systemic view on IT problems and therefore we believe in the following;

  • involve all appropriate stakeholders,
  • ask the right question from the right person to get the right answer,

You will learn how to look for the “underlying reasons” because it is easier to solve causes than it is to solve effects.

  1. Techniques driven with repeatable tools and templates

All our Critical Thinking tools and techniques are “how to” driven. This enables you and your team to approach and execute an analysis without help from outsiders. They are all “process-based” and could, therefore, be used in any type of problem situation.

  1. The established way to reduce any complex problem to a simplistic level

Due to our experience with practitioners, we have found a robust way to reduce any seemingly complex incident situation to two factors; the most specific object and the most accurate fault. This will help you to reduce the initial complex issue to a simplistic investigation starting point.

  1. The proven way to achieve a high level of sustained application

We are not doing training for the sake of training, but always make sure we “implement” two other factors with you; embedding of template pieces into the existing process and settling for certain “rules of engagement” for using these templates and worked questions your daily interacts.

  1. Knowing how to deal with “doing more with less”

We know that most things in life are subject to the Pareto principle (20/80 rule). We ensure that you understand this thoroughly to use the KandF tools to exploit this phenomenon. We get you to focus on the 20% problems, which are responsible for 80% of the effort. This way you will able to address the underlying reasons and achieve an 80% result reducing time, effort and money in delivering results.

  1. Recognition for being a professional problem solver

Thinking Dimensions (TD) was instrumental in creating the Institute for Professional Problem Solvers (IPPS). Today IPPS is a completely autonomous 3rd party organization providing certification on three levels to well deserving graduates and professionals in problem-solving. All TD’s workshops have been granted certification status by the IPPS organization.

  1. Developed by IT for IT

The KandF workshops are a product of our experience based on real-life experiences gathered when we were assisting IT companies to explain difficult and seemingly unsolvable problems. The tools we are using for our clients are the same tools in these workshops. Tools and techniques explained during the workshops are inspired by IT people like you and developed for you.

  1. Based on situational problem-solving practices

We do not believe in the “one size fits all” principle. Based on our experiences with different IT departments we have developed and are still developing distinctive workshops to help you advanced your skills such as;
